St. Martin’s Day
Tradition dictates that we eat roasted chestnuts today.
They say, “Hot and good!”
But there are many ways to eat chestnuts:
Cooked, mashed, in soups, desserts
Chestnuts are an excellent source of energy, rich in vitamins C and B6 (which help fight many diseases) and in minerals such as potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium (which strengthen bones and muscles).
They are also a great source of dietary fiber (which regulates the intestines) and still have a low fat content.
